Welcome To My Front Porch

When I was a kid, one of my favorite shows to watch with my parents was Star Trek: The Next Generation. And one of my favorites about the Starship Enterprise was the Holodeck. If you weren’t brought up in a nerdy household, and you’ve never discovered the glory of Captain Picard for yourself, let me explain.

The Holodeck was a virtual reality room, and in an instant that cold and barren space could be turned into the wildest jungle of the crew’s imagination, or their favorite historical moment, or a passage of a favorite book.

Well I don’t have a Holodeck, but I have faith, dear reader, that you can transport yourself to my front porch. Let’s sit together on my porch swing, sipping on a warm apple cider, and getting to know each other just a little bit better.
